Who are we?

Mother Daughter Team: Jody & Cortlin. In august of 2024 we open Humble Doughtnut Company after operating a bakery in Creemore Ontario for several years. This is where the Humble doughnut was born and perfected.

Why St. Catharines?

The city and the Niagara Region is our home and our family have been in the food industry here for generations.

1940's-50's: Mary Binas, Owned and operated Binas Coffee Shop downtown

1950-1980: Stella Niskanen/Ewanchyshyn (Great Aunt Stella) Baquet Manager at the Hotel Leonard.

1979: Jody's' first job at National Bakery.

Her love for the food and Hospitality Industry led her to study at Niagara College in Hotel and Restaurant Administration.

Years of experience working in and around the city in the industry honing her skills and techniques.

Cortlin was born and raised in the Hospitality and food industry. Through the years she has perfected her skills of baking, decorating and marketing. Creating todays natural entrepreneur.

2020-2023: Jody and Cortlin open the Creemore Bakery, sold in late 2023 to transition to a Doughnut shop exclusively.

2024: The Humble Doughnut Company Opens!
